Upstairs Traprenovatie originated from a family business and has grown through perseverance, belief in our own abilities and a continuous focus on innovation. What started in 1997 at the kitchen table in Budel has grown into the market leader in stair renovation. “We saw an opportunity and seized it with both hands,” says founder Jan Steyvers. Together with his wife Trea, he built an innovative concept: stair renovation as a sustainable and stylish solution.
Today, children Rick, Hilde and Esther continue their parents’ life’s work. Rick leads the company with an analytical eye, while Esther focuses on special projects such as the Staircampus, of which Upstairs is a part and the place to be for a stair renovation. “Everyone on our team breathes the core values of Pride, Results, Ambition and Passion (TRAP),” says Rick.
Upstairs stays true to its family history and core values, with one clear goal: to take the art of perfection in staircase renovation to the next level.
The strength of Upstairs lies in doing it yourself and continuing to develop. In 2013, production was taken completely in-house to ensure the highest quality. “This way we keep control and can continue to innovate,” says Jan. Craftsmanship and innovation go hand in hand, and that translates into sustainable materials like the Upstairs Original Top Layer.
A lot has happened in the past 25 years. Various developments and events have brought our brand to where we are today: the number 1 in stair renovation and a renowned A-brand in the Netherlands. And, we are proud of that!
